Cashless system success at Center Parcs
Systopia, the market leader in payment innovations, has been working with Center Parcs to introduce cashless technology to its short break forest locations. Guests can now book and pay for activities using a simple, secure and flexible wristband system.
The technology is easy to set-up and manage for guests and staff. On arrival, guests register a credit or debit card to their wristband so that purchases can be credited to their account during their stay. Account balance and transactions can be viewed at special kiosks throughout the park, and payments can be settled on the day of departure.
Systopia’s system enables payments to be tracked and processed in real time, which captures user experience data for the business to monitor the popularity of certain activities and items, and adjust the offering on each break to suit. The software has been developed on Microsoft’s secure .NET platform, using technology that has the highest level of compliance available in the UK.
Proven to reduce transaction times and queue lengths, Systopia’s solution is already enhancing the Center Parcs guest experience.
Julia Lambert, IT Project Manager at Center Parcs, comments: “The initial feedback from guests has been excellent. The wristbands allow guests to open doors to their lodges, open lockers in the changing rooms, as well as being used for payment in certain parts of the village”. A UK Center Parcs guest notes: “It was brilliant, much easier than having to carry cash —especially in the pool”.
Chris Lyons, Managing Director of Systopia, reflects on the partnership: “This is a significant milestone for Systopia and Center Parcs UK. We have worked closely with the team to provide a state of the art, integrated system that will allow guests to pay for goods on site easily and quickly at the touch of a wristband. Removing the need to carry cash not only makes payment much easier for visitors, it also creates a safer environment for all”.
Creating such a seamless cashless payment environment is an opportunity to drive experience-based decisions throughout the leisure industry; removing any barriers to transactions, and encouraging guests to make the most of their time in the park.
