Recently, Purchasing for Parks worked with Leisure Resorts to help them improve their costs. Leisure Resorts have a track record in successfully developing award winning, 5 star holiday parks of the highest calibre across the country. Since inception in February 2017, they have invested in excess of £30 million, grown the group to three award-winning holiday homes and lodge parks, with a fourth having opened in July 2019. Their aim is to create truly unique, effortless experiences for their owners and visitors to enjoy time and time again.

The Challenge

Growing purchasing spend and volume, with limited time and resources to proactively manage purchasing to identify and deliver cost savings.

The Solution

Following an initial discussion with Purchasing for Parks, the purchasing review remit and objectives were discussed and agreed, along with the timings and data requirements to complete the review. Spend data was then analysed, along with other purchasing information. Then, a presentation was then shared with the clients to review the current purchasing approach and identify areas and opportunities to improve and deliver costs savings.


The review provided clear transparency and visibility on the current purchasing spend, identified spend by the supplier and category, as well as cost saving opportunities and indicative savings targets. Spend categories were prioritised to review, and prices were benchmarked to identify and deliver cost savings.

Significant costs savings were identified and delivered for the following spend categories:

  • Waste Management
  • Food and Beverage
  • Uniforms
  • Office Stationery
  • Office Printers
  • Name Badges
  • Savings through retail discounts
