Max Card is the UK’s leading discount initiative for looked after children (LAC) and children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The scheme was set up in 2004 by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) and aimed to make cultural days out more accessible for LAC across Yorkshire.
In 2010 Dubit Limited, a children’s games development and research company, took over the scheme as their Corporate Social Responsibility project.
Local Authorities (LA) indicated that the scheme was making a big difference to the lives of families. By 2014, Max Card had extended its reach to children with special educational needs and disabilities and become a national scheme. In 2018, we now work with over 70% of LA’s across the UK.
Max Card has over 75,000 families in the UK benefitting from the scheme, and is currently partnered with over 3000 venues in the UK who provide discounted entry for the children and their families, making days out accessible and affordable!
