The Waterside Holiday Group are looking to their future, investing more than £135,000 in green technology.
The Waterside Holiday Park has installed 165 solar panels, whilst Chesil Vista Holiday Park now boasts more than 280. This work was carried out over winter, to ensure the technology would be in place for the coming summer.
Not only this, but electric car charging points have been introduced to both sites, encouraging those with compatible cars to consider their parks for future holidays. These will operate through the Pod Point Open Charge app, with one free hour of charging per day.
These alterations to the parks are estimated to result in a reduction of more than 80,000kg of carbon dioxide emissions every year. In addition, the solar panels will slash running costs for the business, and soften the impact of future energy price increases.
On top of their own efforts, the Waterside Holiday Group are hoping to inspire their guests to be more eco-conscious on their stay, asking them to recycle more and providing the facilities to guarantee this can take place.
Justin Smith, business compliance manager at The Waterside Holiday Group, said: “It’s really important to us all at Waterside to make sure that we’re at the forefront of making sure our holiday parks are eco-friendly for current and future generations to enjoy”.
