Plans have been drawn up to bring a huge new holiday park to a site near Newquay.

Spanning 50 hectares of land, the development would be larger than many towns in the county, and would feature 1,000 holiday lodges alongside numerous leisure facilities.

Heading the list of attractions promised for the park will be a 2,000 sq m pool complex, which would consist of three separate pool areas, with a selection of slides and other accessories for the whole family to enjoy.

Along with this, there will be an indoor venue, providing entertainment whatever the weather. This will be joined by outdoor play activities, such as a number of adventure playgrounds suitable for all ages and abilities, crazy golf and more.

Any holiday park would not be complete without refreshment offerings, and this site is no different. Developers have envisioned a restaurant, bar, pizza deck and tea housed within the main bulk of the resort.

Kingsley Developments, the minds behind the park, hope it to be the “UK’s finest holiday park” upon completion.

When asked why they chose Cornwall for the project, Abe Simpson, managing director of Kingsley, said: “We are aware of both the increase in tourism demand on Newquay; and yet the decrease in bed spaces available as a direct result of old hotel sites being redeveloped into an array of apartment blocks”.

Planning applications have yet to be submitted to the council, as developers are still hoping to acquire more land surrounding the project. They have, however, promised that these will be put forward before the end of this year.
